Money Saving Tip: Trading Coupons

How many times have I thrown out the coupons I couldn’t use out of the paper after cutting out the ones I needed? Too many times. I figured there had to be a better way to deal with them.

So I started searching ways to trade coupons. I joined a Facebook group but that didn’t work well. I started looking for websites and forums. That has been great!

HotCouponWorld

I have joined the forums at Hot Coupon World. It can be a bit of work to enter all your coupons into the database, make a wishlist, scan through the posts, etc. But it has been so worth it. I have coupons I never would have had before. Like the twelve $1/1 Angel Soft bath tissue coupons that don’t expire until 12/31. They are a peelie coupon (on the package). We didn’t have those here. Since one of my goals this year is to never pay full price for toilet paper, I’m pretty excited.

You are required to sign up for the Trader in Training program but that isn’t a big deal. There is a lot to learn over there and that helps. You have to have a 5 positive feedbacks and have been there a month to graduate to trader.

One of the things I love is called a coupon train. You join the the train and have to send a potluck of 25 coupons to someone and receive one in return. You try to send what you have off their wishlist but then the rest is just stuff you think they will like. Hence, potluck. It is fun and a great way to get coupons you want and ones to trade.

You can also just straight up trade for the coupons you want. Some people want to trade coupon for coupon, sometimes it is coupons for stamps and some people want 10% of the value of the coupon. I prefer coupons or stamps as I don’t really have money to buy coupons.

Go check it out. Let me know how you like it. My name there is loggerswife112. I am always happy to trade coupons with anyone. :)
